Calipers are one of the handiest measuring tools available, especially for woodworkers who work with tight tolerances.  They provide quick, reliable, and accurate measurement of outside and inside dimensions, and depth.   Woodworkers use calipers in a variety of situations such as: measuring the depth and width of grooves, dados, rabbets, and holes; measuring the thickness of tenons, dowels, and wood stock; measuring the size of screws, bolts and hardware; and many other applications.

Starrett's dial calipers are widely considered the finest dial calipers for woodworking on the market today.  We recommend and prefer dial calipers over digital calipers for their higher accuracy and because you do not have to fuss with batteries which die at the absolute worst possible moments.  Dial calipers are always ready and will never fail you.

Starrett's exceptional quality make the 1202F-6 dial caliper a premium tool that will last a lifetime. The Starrett 1202F-6 Dial Calipers are very easy to read and show measurements in both fractional and decimal inches.  The two color dial face shows fractional inches on the yellow outer scale in 1/64th inch graduations and decimal inches on the white inner scale in 1/100th decimal inch graduations.
